The Crowborough Players![]() Spring production 2022
Sweeney Todd by C. G. Bond Friday 13th May, 7.45pm - Saturday 14th May, 2.30pm & 7.45pm The Crowborough Players present "Sweeney Todd, The Demon Barber of Fleet Street". A depraved, bittersweet tale with roots in 1653, that has seen many subsequent iterations. Tickets are on sale now. This performance will be of C. G. Bond's non-musical version, which was the first to offer a deeper meaning behind Todd's actions. Ultimately becoming the inspiration behind the Sondheim musical that most will be familiar with. Within you will find a blurring of the lines between anti-hero and outright villain, a classic love story, an antagonist for the ages, and perhaps also a mistrust of pies. Age advisory = 12+ This amateur production of “Sweeney Todd, The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (Bond)” is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals Ltd. on behalf of Samuel French Ltd. www.concordtheatricals.co.uk
